Hiya! I'm Nicole of nic white photography!

Reading this makes me think of the show Catfish (a favorite show of mine by the way). Like, you're reading about me but hopefully this is who shows up to your family session that you are about to book. Don't worry. It's really me! If you need me to verify who I am, go ahead and quiz me on these fun facts at your session:

5 Guilty Pleasures of Mine:

  • Eggnog lattes with as many shots possible! Did you know Starbucks stopped selling NOG!? Unbelievable. When the nog isn't in season and I'm home in Oregon, I LOVE a hot, 24oz, 5 shot, half sweet, with whip, salted caramel latte from Jim & Patty's!
  • Getting autographs and pictures with any and all celebrities. True story, I met Drew Barrymore in Portland while shooting an engagement session. I've also met Keanu Reeves. NBD.
  • Buying and killing plants. Hey, I really try hard to keep them alive. I blame the plants. They have the problems...not me.
  • Going to Target just to go "for a walk".
  • CLEANING. If I wasn't a photographer, I would be a professional cleaner. If I am not working, I am 100% cleaning something.

I believe that...

  • The San Jose Sharks WILL win a Stanley Cup...who knows when though.
  • It's ok to shoot at f-stop 1.4. All my photog friends will LOVE that I believe in this.
  • That we should be more kind. Not only to others but to ourselves. Living in Portland has really made me realize how hard we are on others who are out here simply surviving. I believe in paying it forward and doing nice things for people.
  • Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are the worst. I actually told everyone who was invited to our wedding that they were NOT allowed to wear yellow because I dislike the team so much.
  • That everything, every single thing, good and bad, happens for a reason.

I am a born and raised Oregonian who obviously runs on fancy, local lattes and is moderately tattooed. The 9 months of rain is my kind of weather but I also enjoy the golden hour sunlight that summers provide. As a native Pacific Northwestern, I rely heavily on the outdoors to provide me with those super happy endorphins. Pair that with photography and being able to work with kids makes for quite the dreamy "day job".

For 6 years of my life, I worked to earn my Bachelors of Fine Art, Photography & Design degree from The Art Institute of Portland. After receiving that expensive piece of paper that now lives...well...somewhere in a bin, I put my passion to work, quit my full time day job and started working with families and newborns as much possible.

I have never looked back.

Even though I am in my 30's, I seem to relate more to kids than I do adults, which is why I find this job to be my hearts desire and passion. I truly love getting on their level and capturing images of them being exactly who they are. There is something magical about kids running free while belly laughing, dads feeling comfortable enough to show those natural smiles that moms love and watching mothers glow while they watch their session come to life just as they had imagined it.

Capturing small moments is my focus while working with your family. I'll ask that you whisper what you find most beautiful about your wife in her ear, that you embrace your children with warm and motherly love, and that your kids let me know who has the stinkier farts (usually it's dad...sorry to spoil the surprise). This is a time to document your family exactly as they are in this moment. I will also ask you how you met, what your favorite food is and if you like the San Jose Sharks. I hope you say you do...if you don't, just don't tell me you like the Pittsburgh Penguins and we should be fine, fine, FINE!

On a personal note, I have a slight obsession with houseplants, ice hockey (can ya tell) and carbs. And coffee. OH! And Target. REALLY love Target.

I look forward to working with you!
